2016 Legislative Reception

Georgia-SMACNA participated in the 2016 Legislative Reception on Wednesday, January 13th. Those who attended on behalf of Georgia-SMACNA had the opportunity to meet several of the state representatives and senators. In addition, a few had the opportunity to speak directly with the Secretary of State, Brian Kemp. Overall, the event was a success!

SMACNA Supervisory Training Academy

Thursday, March 17, 2016 – Saturday, March 19, 2016

SMACNA developed this Supervisory Training Academy for both the new supervisors and those with several years experience in mind. The program will help put new supervisors on the right track for success. Seasoned supervisors will fine-tune their skills and learn the core values of high performing supervisors. This program will cover leadership, communication, productivity, profitability measurement, and tune in on leading industry trends.

Supervisory Training Academy is recommended for:

* HVAC/sheet metal foremen

* Shop foremen

* Superintendents

* Other critical managers

2016 SMACNA Safety Survey

The 2016 SMACNA Safety Survey is now available to submit. Please click the following link, where you will be directed to the SMACNA website to login-in and complete the online surveyUpon submitting, a PDF copy of your entry will be sent to the email you provide on the form.

To submit, certain information will be needed that you can find in your company’s 2015 OSHA 300 Log records. In addition, you will also need to know your 2015 experience modification rate (EMR).

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAY 6, 2016!!!

By completing this survey, you may be eligible to receive a safety award in your man-hour category, which have found to be helpful marketing tools by the companies who have won these awards.

Further information on the 2015 Safety Excellence Awards Program (SSEAP) can be found on the SMACNA safety webpage. Your input is critical to the success of the program. Please be sure to fill in all questions of the survey and submit early.
